Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna, 30 September 1780, to Franz Kruthoffer in Paris, 1780 Sept. 30.

Saying that, as regards his opera Echo, Gluck had not imagined that the directors of the opera house would treat it so contemptuously, because the profit is theirs, addding that nothing would come of his return to Paris for he will not become involved in any more quarrels, mentioning Mathon [de la Cour], etc.
